Residential Counselor, The Willows
Full time position, working with homeless women in recovery, and their children, at The Willows transitional housing program in White Center. Provide client supervision, support, skills training, and supervision of daily schedule of program services and activities that supports the efforts towards recovery of mothers and children in the Willows housing program on swing shifts. Provide oversight of weekly children's group. Provide services incorporating recovery principles, supporting clients in their ability to live, work and contribute to their community.
Provide daily supervision of the general housing milieu and day to day operations of the program. Monitor safety, health, hygiene and cleanliness of the facility and its residents. Provide crisis intervention in accordance with agency protocols to diffuse conflict or dangerous behavior, or deteriorated psychiatric or physical conditions of residents. Encourage and supports residents in providing a nurturing and caring environment for infants, toddlers and youth.
Job Requirements
- AA degree or equivalent in counseling or related field. BA preferred.
- Current Washington State counselor registration. Click here for more details.
- Direct relevant clinical experience preferred.
- Direct experience working with dually diagnosed CD/MH adult population.
- Direct experience working with dually diagnosed women and at-risk youth and infants.
