Vocational Specialist

Provide a continuum of vocational services to assigned clients participating in the Stepworks Vocational Program, including intake and engagement services, assessment and evaluations, job coaching and retention services, and support for their efforts towards recovery. 

Primarily assigned to creating employment opportunities for our clients through job development and community networking.  Coordinate vocational service planning with DVR and with mental health case managers at CPC and outside agencies.  Provide services incorporating recovery principles, supporting clients in their ability to live, work and contribute to their community.

 

Skill Requirements

• Ability to work effectively with clients, case managers and other mental health staff.
• Have proven skills in either the business or rehabilitation field. 
• Demonstrate willingness to be flexible and able to work on a wide range of related tasks as assigned.
• Previous experience in job development, mental health, or with DVR preferred.

Job Requirements

• A Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, vocational rehabilitation or a closely related field.
• Minimum of one year of related experience.
• Have or obtain a WA state counselor registration, certification, or license. Click here for more information.
