Entering Counseling as a Private Pay/Private Insurance Client
Congratulations! It takes courage to reach out for help. We have provided this guide to help you understand the process of entering counseling services at Community Psychiatric Clinic.
Individuals who are planning to pay for their services using private (commercial) insurance such as that provided through an employer, or by paying out-of-pocket, do not go through the standard CPC assessment process. If you are interested in receiving services as a private client (adults and children), you should first start by calling 206-545-2354.
After a brief initial phone screening, you will be connected directly with your primary clinician for a thorough face-to-face assessment and ongoing services. This person will be your individual or family counselor and the point of contact for any other services you choose to participate in at CPC.
What is an assessment?
An assessment appointment is where your counselor meets with you to determine what your concerns are and how we can work together to assist in your recovery. For private pay/private insurance clients, this assessment will take place at your first appointment. Your assessment can take from 1 to 2 hours, depending on your personal situation, needs, and issues.
After the Assessment
After the assessment, you will begin your regular counseling. Your counselor will work with you to develop an individualized, solution-oriented plan that will help you to achieve and maintain optimum mental wellness. Counseling services may include:- Individual or family counseling
- Prescribing and monitoring medications or other psychiatric services if appropriate
- Case management and services coordination
- Referrals to other organizations in the community or programs at CPC that might help you
- Housing or residential assistance if appropriate
- Vocational services and support if appropriate
